Okay, I’m about to drop a bomb on all my diabetic peeps!! My dad was a diabetic and one of the things he used to crave the most was sweets. Which was kinda funny, since, he never really ate sweets before he was diagnosed. But, anyway, for some reason he was REALLY craving them. So, being the awesome daughter that I am, I did some research on how to naturally quench his craving for sweets. There are many different ways for diabetics to curb their desire for sweets, but here’s one that tastes truly sinful…
I use doTerra essential oils for so many things. I use them for cleaning, diffusing, in my homemade beauty products, on my pets and even in some of my recipes.
They are such a part of my life, I don’t know what I would do without them.
Back in October of 2016 I went on a trip to Costa Rica and stayed with a friend of mine. We got to talking about kitchen appliances and she told me about the programmable pressure cooker she & her daughter used. She told me it would change my life!!
I wasn’t so sure a kitchen appliance could change my life, but I told her I would check into it when I got back home to the states. Well, time came and went and I never really thought that much more about it. Continue reading “If You Don’t Have One of These, You Don’t Know What Your Missing!!”

Ethically Sourced, Uniquely Made, Consciously Eaten!
Today I’m posting about something that brings two of my most favorite loves together. Sustainable living & CHOCOLATE!! I’m passionate about being a conscious consumer. I really do love chocolate, but, I haven’t always loved the way in which chocolate is sourced, cultivated, harvested and processed.
I’m sure you have heard the news, chocolate is good for you!! YAY!! But, hold on a minute, not all chocolate is good for you. Chances are the chocolate you are eating is VERY bad for you 😦 (bummer) Off the shelf chocolate has many things wrong with it, but I’ll just stick to the 4 worst health & environmental issues: Continue reading “Eat Chocolate, Ethically, Uniquely, Consciously”
My dad’s side of the family are full bred southerns. You know, “Y’all want some iced tea”, kinda southerns. I heard the phrase “good gravy” a lot! But, never to actually describe the gravy? It was more of a way to not use the “Lord’s name in vain” or instead of using some unacceptable profanity. I guess the gravy was always good so there was no use saying how good the gravy was? Tips For The Idle Gardener
Most people think that having a garden is a lot of work. Yes, it can be if your not organized. It’s not just about going outside, planting a plant in the ground, watering it and thinking it will grow. Live healthier with these secrets from around the world!
Did you know there are places with virtually no depression, heart disease or cancer? It’s true! Here are some secrets from the healthiest people on Earth!
JULY IS NATIONAL ICE CREAM MONTH, so why not celebrate by making your own ice cream? You don’t even need a fancy machine to do it, all you need is a couple of zip-top baggies, says Michael Carrino, chef and owner of Restaurant Passionne’ in Montclair, New Jersey. This is his basic recipe to get you started:
Place 1 cup organic whole milk, 1 tsp. vanilla and 2 Tbs. sugar in a quart-size zip-top plastic bag and seal.
Combine 4 cups of ice and 1/4 cup of Kosher salt in a gallon-size zip-top plastic bag. (The salt actually lowers the temperature of the ice by several degrees.) Place the smaller bag with the ice cream mixture inside the larger bag, and then seal the larger bag.
inding it hard to motivate yourself to do something? Try turning on Baroque music – such as Handel’s “Water Music.” When people listened to this type of music while doing a boring task, 50% were more satisfied with the job, and most felt it was easier to focus. “Listening to Baroque, your heart rate drops to match the 60 beats per minute in the music”, says study author Paras Lakhani, M.D. “This has a claming effect, making concentration easier.”
