Sleep like a baby and wake up feeling refreshed!
These nighttime rituals & morning routines will help you live a much improved life!
How did it all get, so out of hand?
How did we stop caring, about our land?
When did we start judging each others choices?
When did we stop hearing each others voices?
Who are we without the mask?
Who are we without a task?
What makes you more perfect than me?
What makes you think, we must agree?
Why do we argue about who is right?
Why do we think we have to fight?
The questions are simple, the living is not…
We wake up each day all tied up in knots…
Searching for answers that will never be found…
Waiting to be buried six feet under the ground…
Thank you, I’m sorry, forgive me I pray…
I don’t understand, but one day I may.
What is true meditation?
Can the mind, that only knows what is known, reveal the unknown?
Is what we think of as truth, really truth, or is it a projection of the mind with it’s ideas, beliefs and experiences?
Are our minds made up of our conditioning? What we’ve been taught or what we’ve read or what we’ve listened to? Do we read about truth or listen to words that we accept as truth, but are merely other people’s ideas?
What does it mean to live our purpose? What do we need in order to find our passion and accomplish our goals? Where do we find the strength to move forward? When we talk about these things there is a feeling we get inside of us that makes us excited and want to know more. We think, yes, tell me what it is so I can get it and know what to do. But, the problem is, that we have to find it on our own. Nobody can tell us what our purpose is or how to find it. It is up to each person to find their own path to their passion. It’s not as hard as we think, though. Its about connecting, connecting to our inner self that knows what makes us want to fight for what we believe in. Taking the time to quietly sit with ourselves and tap into our core and feel the fire of what is burning inside of us, that needs to get out. That’s what passion is. The only way we will have the strength to fight for what we want, is to live passionately.
I know that when we talk about passion we get excited and then when we’re told we have to find it on our own we get let down, but, here’s the thing, all we need to do is to take action. Not just any action, but, inspired action. Start searching, that’s how we can find out what it is we are passionate about. Just do something and even if we fail, that’s success, because we have found out what is not our purpose and we can move on to the next thing. Don’t give up, these days we have no excuse for not doing what we need to do to find our purpose, with the internet we can find out about anything, we can explore all our options, before we even take one solid action, we can take a step. Once we find our passion, then we can set our goals and tap into our inner strength and every day we can acquire the knowledge we need to achieve those goals. Setting ourselves up for success, is to tap into the true essence of our self and be a person who lives their purpose. We can do this by awakening the warrior within, its not about waring ourselves out driving towards that goal, so focused on it that we lose track of what we’re trying to accomplish, its about connecting to our purpose and tapping into that thing inside of us that we know, that we know, that we know, we are supposed to do. Once we understand where that passion comes from, research it and take action, it will take on a life of its own and lead us to where we need to go. Its not a head thing, its a heart thing.
Can we live our purpose and create the life we want without being a warrior? NO! Being a warrior means standing up for what we believe in. Its what gives us the strength we need to move forward, taking the steps necessary to accomplish any goal we set for ourselves and gives us the excitement and the enthusiasm to carry it out regardless of the obstacles that get in the way. One of the biggest obstacles we face is ourselves. We are the ones who will talk ourselves out of living our passion. We are the ones who tell ourselves we’re not good enough, we don’t drive a nice enough car, we’re not pretty enough, we’re not smart enough or we don’t have enough money. We go on and on telling ourselves how we are NOT going to accomplish our dreams. But, these are the obstacles that we can overcome if we just believe in ourselves and take the steps necessary to move forward, then, things have a way of working themselves out. I have never heard anyone who was successful that said they never had an obstacle to overcome. I am a writer, I love to write and regardless of what others tell me, I will write. In doing research on writing, I have found so many stories of rejection. Everyone who writes has been rejected by publishers, by the press, by other people’s opinions or by their own self talk. Rejection is what we need to push us and let us know if what we are doing is what we are passionate about, because without rejection we would not know what success is. When we are rejected by others or even ourselves and we do it anyway, that’s passion, that’s our purpose!
We can accomplish anything we want, there are no limits, only the limits we set for ourselves. Its not about having our heads in the clouds, its about waking up everyday and connecting with our inner self. We must make some time for ourselves or we will not know what makes us happy, excited about life, joyfully enthusiastic and enlightened. Wake up earlier than everyone else in the house, sit quietly and hear the still small voice of God speak. What a special moment that is, a moment that everyone experiences differently. Each of us is an individual with unique talents and gifts and no one person is exactly like another. We can chose how we want to live by connecting to our purpose, connecting to our inner power, connecting to our inner peace and connecting to our inner discipline. We are not going to war against anyone or anything, we are engaging in something bigger than ourselves, we are creating and we are standing for something. It’s more about surrendering than warring, we need to surrender to our passion and our purpose, living a life that flows freely. We do not have to struggle against the current, if we are being true to ourselves we will flow with the current of life. To know our purpose, is to be willing to give up everything to follow our passion. That’s when we know we are doing what need to do, that is being true to our self, that’s how we overcome obstacles. When we are willing to give up everything, then we’re concerned about nothing, which frees us and allows us to create whatever we want.
Be brilliant, shine and glow, there is a light inside of us that will only shine when we are lit up from the inside. The fuel for that fire is passion, a passion that comes from being uniquely ourselves. No one thinks the same way, moves the same way or lives the same life, no matter how close we are to others, we are closer to ourselves. We spend more time getting to know other people than we do ourselves, we believe more in others more than we do ourselves, we encourage others more than we encourage ourselves and we engage more with others than we do with ourselves. Again I want to say, lets embrace our individual uniqueness, and then we’ll be able to embrace the uniqueness of others. While we are trying to get people to understand us, let’s start by understanding others. Dare to be different by accepting the difference in others. Instead of competing with each other we can stand in our own space, a space that is unique to who we are, and allow others to do the same. We can work with others, instead of against them. Keep in mind that nothing happens overnight, everything takes time, but, we will never get anywhere if we don’t start somewhere. Taking baby steps each day will bring us closer and closer to our goals. Stay in the Now of each moment and enjoy life right now, don’t continue to look to the future for someday. Someday is here and now, each moment of everyday is the tomorrow we create, so make it as pleasant as possible, then, one day we’ll look back on today and say, “Those were the days”.

In doing research for this blog I came across some interesting information. My intention was to write about St Valentine and how we came to celebrate St Valentine’s Day. Well, to my surprise, there is no one St. Valentine and there is no connection between St. Valentines day and any of the three Valentines that were martyred at different times and buried on February 14.
There is a legend however, that tells of a St Valentine who was persecuted for being Christian. When being interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II, the Emperor tried to convert St. Valentine to paganism in order to save his life, but Valentine refused and tried to convert Claudius to Christianity instead. For this he was executed, but before he was executed he preformed a miracle by healing the daughter of the jailer, who was blind. In the romantic version that was given to history.com by American Greetings, the night before Valentine was to be executed he wrote a letter to his “beloved”, believed to be the daughter of the jailer, and signed the letter “From your Valentine”. Nice story, but there is no historical proof that this actually happened.
Before 1797 there were a limited number of Valentine’s Day cards being printed called “mechanical valentines”. After 1797, a British publisher issued the Young Man’s Valentine Writer, which contained a mass amount of suggested sentimental verses for those who were unable to compose their own. Because of the reduction in postal rates, it became easier for people to send anonymous Valentines day cards to each other. So, by the 19 century paper Valentines Day cards became so popular in England that they started to be produced in mass, by factories. The United States started mass producing them shortly after 1847 by Esther Howland, whose father owned a large book and stationary store. She was inspired by an English Valentine she received from a business associate of her father’s.
So you see, here we are in 2012 looking forward to Valentine’s Day so we can receive our bouquet of flowers, box of chocolates and a heart shaped pendant, all in the name of love. It’s a day of proposals, first dates, date nights and weddings. All because of a romantic story perpetrated by a card company as a marketing strategy to sell more cards. What are we to make of this? Look, I am all about love and romance and I am all for giving our loved ones romantic gifts and cards, but why are we doing it the name of a saint who doesn’t even exist, because of a story that has no proof? Why do we need a specific day to honor our loved ones? Why can’t we make everyday a day that we cherish our loved ones and make them feel special?
We have become so commercialized nowadays that we don’t know real from fake, truth from false or fact from fiction. Our economy is the way it is today because of people trying to live a fake life, by living above their means. We have become a society obsessed with the need for things, judging ourselves by our looks and comparing ourselves to what others hold in high regard. Now is the time to get real! Lets get real about our finances, our relationships and our lives. Lets get our heads out of the sand and live our lives as authentic, real and truthful human beings, loving each other everyday, flaws and all and not just on one particular day set aside for love.
Are we rejecting ourselves when it comes to our passion, our vision, our dreams, our abundance, sense of receiving, or our self worth? And if we are, is it because we would rather reject ourselves, rather than have someone else reject us?
Sometimes self-rejection comes from feeling like we are never enough, we’re not good enough, we don’t do enough, we don’t learn enough, just a feeling that we are not good enough for whatever situation we are in. We are always wanting to be more, in our families, with our friends, in our appearance or even in our money situation. We are not open to recieving the good things in life. We don’t think we deserve whatever good comes to us. And if anything good does come into our lives we look at it as if its a fluke. Sometimes, we even think that if something good happens to us, then something bad is bound to happen right away.
Sometimes self-rejection comes in the form of dimming our light. A lot of times we dim our light because we don’t want to be responsible for the expectations that are put upon us, or we are afraid of the lack of approval from others. We know that if we dim our light we can stay in the background where nobody will notice us, then, if we make a mistake, we won’t be horrialby embarassed. Because it seems that the need for other people’s approval of us is more important than the need to approve of ourselves.
Often times when we get rejected, we spend so much time worrying about being rejected, that we don’t realize that there is something better waiting for us around the next corner. The important thing about rejection is that we learn from it and become a better person. Other people’s opinion of us should not define us. We need to give ourselves permission to be who we are reguardless of what other’s think or say about us. This is not an easy task, because we are so used to being who everyone else thinks we are, it is hard to show who we really are.
What we need to remember is that self-rejection is something we do to ourselves, whether conciously or unconciously. We need to stop taking things personally, because everyone comes from their own perspective, and that is their perspective, it has nothing to do with us. If we can develop our rejection muscle, and notice when we are in rejection mode, then we will understand and recognize, that is not our story. Once we start to recognize when we are being hard on ourselves, we can then, stop, and nurture ourselves, doing at least one kind thing for ourselves during the day. This will give us some balance, and help us learn how to give ourselves permission to be ourselves.

Why do women entrepreneurs not plan for success and have a “lets just see what will happen” kind of attitude when it comes to their businesses? Why do women feel more responsible for their home, children, and husband, than they do for their business?
Planning is the key. Most women start a business because they are looking to make a little extra money, not really looking at where their business can grow to. We women think we are just going to help out with the bills until our husband finds a job, or work picks back up. We don’t take what we are doing very seriously. We don’t visualize where we want our business to be in 5 years, and then, create the system and operate the business as if we were already there. But this is the mindset that will propel our businesses to succeed. Because then, when the business starts to take off and become successful, the system and the infrastructure will be in place to support it and the business will continue to grow.
When we go into business, what is our mindset? Are we in hobby mindset, “oh I just need to make a little extra money and I’ll be fine”? Or are we in the mindset of looking at ourselves as the CEO of our own enterprise, which sometimes, as women, we are afraid to even say. If that is our mindset we must change that thought. When we first think about becoming an entrepreneur it is usually because we have found a problem and we are going to solve it. The purpose of starting a business, shouldn’t be just to make a few extra dollars, because then the business is not going to be successful. The purpose has got to be much more important and passionate than making money otherwise its not going to succeed.
What is the common mindset in women who struggle in business? With the economy the way it is today, with things getting kind of crazy, and things not really going well, the first thing we want to do is withdraw. Not just the business, but also personally, our spirits withdraw as well. In the economy right now there is so much opportunity for business. To start a business or to grow a business, but we have to get to a point of expanding where we think we can go. Do things that inspire us, things that inspire our spirits. We shouldn’t be going around looking and feeling like we are in lack. We need to keep ourselves upbeat; drink out of our fancy glasses, eat off of our good china, dress nicely, even if we don’t have to leave the house. These are the things that will inspire our spirits to succeed. If we are not inspired we are not going to do well in business.
If our sales are down, the first thing we want to do is cut back and consolidate as much as possible. But the reality is, since that is what everybody else is doing, it is time to do more. Get out and meet people and network and talk about your business. Regardless of what is going on in the economy, we need to trust ourselves. Whatever the economy is doing doesn’t matter, in the end it is up to us and how passionate we are about what we are doing. So, don’t withdraw, expand instead, which makes us more creative and solution oriented; it makes us trust ourselves more, and as long as we believe in ourselves and the service we are providing, we will have the great feeling, that in the midst of struggle, we can recognize who we are and what we are made of. Look for ways to be creative, take advantage of new opportunities, get stronger, tougher, and step up.
The first step in creating a new mindset is to decide that we are going to do it. Once we decide that we are going to do it, then we need to decide, what is the purpose, what is our passion, so that when adversity strikes, we will do whatever it takes, because we want to grow. The reason why successful people succeed is because they have failed more. But in their failures they haven’t given up. When we are passionate about what we are doing, even when we make mistakes, we will keep on trying.
One of the biggest mistake people make is thinking that their service or their product is the most important thing. But, what we don’t understand is that it is all the systems around the business; the marketing, the accounting, the cashflow, the legal aspect, these are the things that make a business. So we need to plan for abundance and be ready for increased business when it comes. Which will come with abundance thinking.

Life is all about change. Everything is changing constantly. We are changing, our environment is changing, the way we do business is changing, our world is changing. The question is, “In what ways are we changing and do we celebrate those changes?” Change can be more about opportunity than a challenge. Since everybody and everything is constantly changing, we ask ourselves “Is it always for the good?”
We live in such a fast paced world. Everybody is on warp speed trying to get everything done. Some people thrive on always having a full plate, while most of us are drained, exhausted, stressed and frazzled. It does not have to be like that. We can learn to slow down, become more comfortable with who we are, we can become more available and attract better, deeper relationships, we can relax more and stop feeling like we have to always be doing something all the time.
We can start by learning how to choose, not only our battles, but our schedules. Are you a all or nothing kind of person, doing very little in moderation? Keep in mind that we can ware ourselves out trying so hard to get it all done immediately. We tend to go completely overboard when trying to make changes in our lives. We wake up one day and think, “I need to make a change in my life.”, and then by the end of the day feel defeated because we didn’t accomplish the results we were looking for. It takes hard work and dedication to arrive at the goals we set for ourselves; it is especially important to remember that it takes baby steps to achieve the worthwhile things in life. Results never happen in a day or even overnight. By taking small steps when trying to change we will have a much better chance of accomplishing and achieving our goals.
People like recognition. We like it when others tell us that what we are doing is good, helpful and inspiring. That is what makes us feel good. But, again, we can ware ourselves out trying so hard to get the approval of others. Looking for that pat on the back and having someone tell us, “Good job”. If we are doing something in our lives that makes us happy and we feel good about, that is all that counts. We do not need to be worried about who approves.
Another thing that can be very stressful in our lives is opening ourselves up to other peoples emotional turmoil. We tend to try to solve everybody else’s problems other than our own. We spend more time caught up in other peoples excess baggage than concentrating on ours. We have a mindset that we need to handle everything that comes our way. But that is not true. What we should be doing is prioritizing. We need to make a list of whats important to us and our families and stick to that list. We need to learn to say “NO” to the things that don’t get us closer to the goals on our list.
So what is it that you want to change? Make a list of those things that you want to change in your life and don’t be too hard on yourself. Allow yourself time to evolve. Take responsibility for your internal change. Evolution is about constantly growing, and realizing that it doesn’t ever end. Don’t resist change, don’t be a person who has to hit a wall before they realize that change is inevitable. Ease into change. Know that things are going to change and allow yourself the gift of going with the flow of change.
As we change the people around us notice our changes and they will either change with us or they will resist the change. We should surround ourselves with the people that will support our changes and encourage us to change for the better. Change is good, and by changing the way we think about change, the more uninhibited we become. So lets celebrate our changes and realize that every single day is a day is another opportunity for change, we can wake up everyday and start all over again.

How important is it for us to prosper, have a great self-image, communicate clearly, have worthwhile relationships, and live our lives knowing that we are always making the right decisions? Sound to good to be true? Well, that is what we can have if we live our lives in the moment instead of in the past or in the future. Its about living a life of Truth.
What is Truth? It is when stop using our intellect and start looking within ourselves to give us the information we need to be who we Truly are. This can be called our higher self, the voice of inner Wisdom, or our intuition but what is it really? Its all the information that we need that is available to us in each moment.
When we go inside to find Truth we are putting ourselves through a process of clearing out false beliefs, false memories and false images about ourselves and our lives. Its when we combine contemplation with meditation. Getting in tune with ourselves and releasing all data stored up inside our minds. And then receiving the Creative Energy we need to change our lives. Getting out of confusion and the dark. When we go within the light shines and that light reveals to us whatever information we need in the form of Creative Energy.
We are usually motivated to make a change in our lives when we are going through troubles. That’s when we start with self rejection, thinking we are not good enough the way we are, hating where we are. This is the engine that powers the train that motivates us to change. When we feel ourselves caught up in a web of self-defeating thoughts and actions. Where do we turn? Who has the answers? Where do I go from here? Mostly looking outside of ourselves for the answers. STOP! The first thing we need to do is go within to find the Love. We need to start embracing ourselves exactly where we, that’s where transformation happens.
Where does the Truth that is within us come from? When we are confused and need clear direction in our lives we think that our answers are somewhere out there. Truth isn’t something that we receive from someone or something as a one time gift and then we can move on with Wisdom, Knowledge and Truth firmly planted in us, no longer having to think about it. We are always flowing, moving, and growing, therefore, we have to be aware at all times, constantly living moment to moment. Then Truth is revealed to us from within, not without. We are given the grace to see that we need Truth and then we can start the process of removing false and receiving Truth. Then the light comes in and we get a wake up call and the Creative Energy starts flowing.
So many of us today are struggling financially. Why is that and how can we gain the Truth we need to get out of our situations? Each of us struggles for our own reasons, however the beauty is when we go within to receive our Truth, the questions we ask ourselves are a reflection of our individual struggles, therefore, our Truth will be geared toward our own personal belief system we have stored inside our minds. When we do the work of letting go of false beliefs and ideas that hold us back, we will get the answers that we need.
So if the question we ask ourselves is “why am I not there yet?”, we won’t get the correct answer because that can’t be the question. That question will only reveal the false, because that question is a rejection of where we are and now we are caught in the negative which is false. That is self rejection that can never guide us to the Truth. Truth can only be revealed in the moment, that is the only Real. That is where Love, Power, Wisdom and Light reside and where we can, then, receive our Creative Energy. So, the question we should be asking is, “What are the false beliefs and ideas I have that I need to understand? What is preventing me from receiving the Truth I want?”
When we are in Truth, we can embrace ourselves exactly where we are, because that’s where all our information is. So don’t let our questions to ourselves be about the negative or the false beliefs or ideas we have, because what we want is to be in Truth. Falseness is a rejection of ourselves and where we are because we think we want to be in a better or different place. Truth allows us to be exactly where we are so we can learn. If we do not recognize where we are and accept it with total non-judgement then we can’t learn from it and then find Truth which leads to receiving the Creative Energy that changes our lives.
There are a lot of people who are overwhelmed with all the responsibilities in life, many of us would like to have more focus and more direction in our life. We have a belief that it will take to much time. That is not Truth, because if we have time to breath, then we have time to know Truth, its that easy. Truth is the moment we are in. If we ask ourselves a question, we can close our eyes, relax, trust that the answer will come, and the rest is not our business. When we focus on our breath in and our breath out, then our Truth will arise from us and we will receive our Creative Energy.
Falseness guarantees our suffering, and we do not need to suffer. The questions we ask ourselves determine whether we let go of false beliefs and ideas and find Truth or if we remain in the dark, trying so hard to find the way out. Because Truth is all about self acceptance and acceptance of all those around us, wherever we are, the false focuses on rejection. How many questions do we ask ourselves everyday? We have so many questions and if they are rejecting, then we cannot come to the Truth. We need to be willing to go inside ourselves and accept ourselves just the way we are and be accepting of others just the way they are, and from that place we will naturally evolve, move and grow, it can’t be helped. From there we get the Creative Energy we need to move forward and change our lives.
