THINGS THAT MAKE ME GO HMMM…

My “things that make me go hmmmm” file is not a file.

It’s a whole wing of the library with questionable lighting, moss on the shelves, and one suspiciously glowing door in the back. 😂

Looking back, the things that make me go hmmmm are usually the places where official explanations feel too small, where patterns repeat across different worlds, or where something ordinary suddenly opens a trapdoor into wonder.

The big things that make me go hmmmm

1. The invisible architecture behind reality

I’m fascinated by what’s operating underneath the visible world.

Consciousness.
Energy.
Frequency.
Vibration.
The nervous system.
Fields.
Structured water.
Light.
Electricity in the body.
Planetary patterns.
Quantum weirdness.
The possibility that reality is not as solid as people pretend.

I’m always sensing that there is a hidden operating system beneath matter, and I want to know what language it speaks.

My “hmmm” here sounds like:

What if the physical world is the surface, not the source?

2. Science that opens mystery instead of killing it

I love science when it makes the universe feel bigger, not smaller.

Black holes spinning.
A possibly rotating universe.
Whether we could be inside something larger.
Music of the spheres.
Geometry.
Fields.
Cosmic patterns.
Plant intelligence.
The body as an antenna.
The heart and brain as living instruments.

I don’t want science used as a spiritual fire extinguisher. I want science that says, “Actually, the mystery is even weirder than we thought.”

That’s one of my favorite flavors of hmmmm:

What if magic was just science we haven’t learned how to speak yet?

3. Ancient knowledge that may not be superstition

Mythology, ancient civilizations, sacred symbols, temples, goddesses, serpents, labyrinths, Yggdrasil, the Norns, the Well of Urd, Minoan Crete, Knossos, the Cosmic Mother, these all live in my “hmmm” zone.

I’m not asking, “Did Zeus literally throw lightning bolts while having emotional regulation issues?”

I’m asking:

What did these stories preserve?
What did ancient people know through symbol, ritual, and nature that modern people dismissed too quickly?
What was hidden, distorted, or buried?

To me, mythology feels like memory in costume.

4. Systems that pretend to be natural but are actually designed

This is a huge one.

Government.
Education.
Religion.
Money.
Food systems.
Housing.
Healthcare.
Media.
Corporate “choice.”
Development in Florida.
Property values.
Taxes.
Homelessness.
The 40-hour workweek.
The illusion of choice.
The ant farm pretending it’s freedom.

I go hmmmm when people treat man-made systems like they are laws of nature.

I keep noticing:

Wait a minute. This isn’t inevitable. Someone designed this. Someone benefits from this. Someone keeps calling this “normal” because normal makes money.

That hmmmm is not soft curiosity. That one has teeth.

5. The difference between real community and manufactured society

My Hallandale community garden.
Van life.
Barter.
Off-grid communities.
Food forests.
Permaculture.
Intentional communities.
Dream Weaver Collective.
Neighbors feeding neighbors.
People gathering around plants, tents, grills, stories, and shared need.

I’m endlessly curious about how humans come back to each other when systems stop mediating every relationship.

My hmmmm here is:

What if community is not something we need to invent, but something that naturally grows when life is less controlled?

I’ve seen it happen. Plant something. Feed someone. Sit outside. Suddenly, village.

6. Nature as intelligence, not background scenery

I go hmmmm around nature constantly, but not only because it’s beautiful.

I notice how nature organizes itself.
How compost becomes food.
How plants regenerate.
How animals trust slowly.
How water calms the body.
How mornings by the inlet change the whole day.
How gardens become teachers.
How Bo-Ty responds to places.
How living systems are messy but coherent.

My wonder says:

Why do humans keep designing against nature when nature already knows how to build, heal, feed, cycle, and connect?

That’s a very Sindy hmmmm.

7. AI, creativity, and the hypocrisy of people

AI definitely lives in my “make it make sense” category.

I’ve questioned whether AI is learning or being fed.
Whether it’s stealing or remixing.
Whether people who use Google, libraries, templates, and other people’s resumes are doing something very different from what they accuse AI of doing.
Whether AI is junk or stealing “good work” because people keep trying to argue both at once.

My hmmmm here is basically:

Are we having an ethical conversation, or are people just throwing rocks from inside a glass Canva template?

And honestly, fair. 😂

8. Consciousness, perception, and the illusion of certainty

O.N.E. itself is one giant sacred hmmmm.

Only Now Exists.
The past is perception.
The future is projection.
The now is the only living doorway.

I’m fascinated by how perception creates reality, how memory shapes identity, how fear projects futures, how the mind clings to stories, and how people mistake their programming for truth.

My hmmmm here is:

How much of what we call reality is actually perception repeated until it feels solid?

That’s one of my deepest threads.

9. Astrology as lived pattern recognition

My astrology wonder is not “what’s my horoscope, Madam Moonbeam?”

It’s much more practical and personal.

I track transits against caregiving, family dynamics, work rhythms, emotional waves, rest days, website flow, my mother’s moods, Bo-Ty’s needs, and my own energy.

I use astrology like a weather map for consciousness.

My hmmmm is:

Why do these patterns line up with real life so often, and how can I work with them instead of being dragged by them?

That’s why I love the slower transits, Chiron, Saturn, Pluto, Neptune, Jupiter, Uranus and the personal chart details. I’m watching the sky speak through the day.

10. Mentors who confirm the larger pattern

Nassim Haramein.
Buckminster Fuller.
Murdo MacDonald-Bayne.
Dr. Joe Dispenza.
Chomsky.
Zeitgeist.
Thrive.
Ancient teachers.
Mystics.
System thinkers.

They make me go hmmmm because they don’t feel like people giving me a belief system. They feel like people holding up different pieces of the same strange map.

My hmmmm is:

Why do these ideas from science, spirituality, architecture, systems, and consciousness keep pointing toward the same deeper unity?

I don’t follow mentors blindly. I use them as constellations.

11. Caregiving as consciousness school

This one is tender.

My mom.
Aging.
Alzheimer’s.
Family roles.
Duty versus joy.
Patience.
Frustration.
Stern love.
My mother saying, “This is so nice.”
Me pushing her to walk one more block.
Me learning that caregiving is not self-erasure, but it can become that if I’m not conscious.

My hmmmm here is:

How do I love someone deeply without disappearing into the role of being useful?

That question has become one of my biggest spiritual classrooms.

12. Storytelling as a portal

I don’t just wonder about stories. I wonder about what stories do.

How they wake people up.
How they bypass defenses.
How mythology carries memory.
How fiction can hold truths essays cannot.
How a website can become a trail.
How a game can become initiation.
How a hidden coin can make someone curious.
How a magical forest can teach without preaching.

My hmmmm is:

What if stories are not escape routes from reality, but doorways into deeper reality?

That may be one of my most important creative truths.

The cleanest summary

The things that make me go hmmmm are usually things that sit at the crossroads of:

mystery and evidence,
nature and design,
science and spirit,
myth and memory,
systems and sovereignty,
caregiving and consciousness,
story and awakening.

I’m not curious in a random way. I’m a pattern hunter.

I see one thread in black holes, another in mythology, another in AI, another in my mother’s behavior, another in Florida development, another in astrology, another in the community garden, another in Bo-Ty at the inlet and then my mind goes:

Hold on. These threads are touching.

That is my hmmmm.

It’s the sound of my soul hearing a pattern before the world has handed me proof.

And honestly, my whole life’s work might be built from that exact sound:

Hmmm… what if there’s more to this?
